Product Hunt clone

Technology: Bubble
Categories: No-Code, UI / UX, qa

As a no-code Bubble developer, I have developed a Product Hunt Clone app that demonstrates my proficiency in utilizing the platform’s functionalities. The app’s objective is to showcase my creative thinking and problem-solving skills, while building on the skills learned during the first week of the Bootcamp.

The app features three main pages: Home, Product, and Post. The Home page allows any user to browse and upvote products, filter and sort the product list by name, tags, and vote count, and browse a list of tags. The Product page displays detailed information on a specific product, including name, tagline, description, images, and a list of comments. The Post page allows logged-in users to submit a new product, requiring mandatory fields such as name, tagline, description, website link, tags, logo, and images.

The app also includes several advanced features such as multi-select dropdowns for tags, upvoting and unliking, email notifications for liked tags, inline comment editing, and an edited comment tag. The app has been designed with a user-friendly interface, and the wireframes provide a rough guide to the page structure.

The recommended approach for building the app is to set up the database and privacy rules first, followed by adding the page UI and header, and setting up the logic for creating products, browsing products, and browsing tags. Testing the app by trying to break it or performing nonsensical actions when logged in and logged out is highly recommended before deploying the app live.

Overall, my Product Hunt Clone app demonstrates my ability to build complex web apps using no-code tools like Bubble. The app’s features and functionalities showcase my proficiency in the platform and my creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
